Completed Projects

Here are a few photos of the latest Iron Doctors projects

CAT 825C wheel end reseal. The compactor wheel was removed to access the final drive, which was also removed to replace the duo-cone wheel seal.

CAT 623 cushion hitch cylinder reseal, a common problem on scrapers.

John Deere loader brake replacement with piston reseal. The brakes would chatter and grab. After inspection, the brake lining thickness was found to be near the end of it’s life. Brake piston seals are always done when replacing friction elements.

CAT 637 transmission removal for rebuild. Scraper transmission removals are also common. This transmission was sent out by the customer for rebuild, as Iron Doctors does not have the capability to overhaul components of this size.

John Deere loader glow plug and glow plug harness replacement, which requires removal of the EGR cooler, exhaust manifold, and turbocharger to access.

Hitachi 870 excavator EGR cooler testing and replacement. The customer was losing a small amount of coolant with no external leak. A routine oil sample yielded excess calcium in the oil sample, suggesting coolant was being consumed. The EGR coolers were removed and pressure tested, and one cooler was found to have a pinhole leak.
